Being Home For The Holidays As Told In GIFs

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...and my bed...and my mom's cooking.

So you've finished your last final, packed your bags, and are ready to head home for the holidays. Going back home has its ups and has its downs, but it wouldn't really be the holidays if you were anywhere else. No matter what, it's bound to be an experience, and perhaps one best described in GIFs.

When you finally walk through the door after traveling for hours:

And you see you're parents for the first time in months:

And you see your siblings and are just like:

But they don't understand why you wont let go of them for a good five minutes:

So you try to explain what finals week did to you:

The first time you sleep in your bed again:

And the first time you have a home-cooked meal:

You spend the first couple of days posted up on your couch:

But then your friends come back into town:

And then you start spending your days like this:

And before you know it, it's almost Christmas:

And you need to shop, but this is basically all the money to your name:

But you make it work. And then your entire family gives you cash for Christmas because you're #poorAF, and you're chillin':

But then someone in your family asks if you finally have a significant other at Christmas dinner:

But overall, you have a great Christmas because your family is awesome:

And you spend a few days eating Christmas leftovers:

And before you know it, it's New Years Eve!

And as Grandma so gently reminded you on Christmas, you've got no one to kiss so you're like:

But the next day, your mom asks about your resolutions:

So you decide to go to hot yoga with her to cleanse yourself, but ten minutes in you realize you've f*cked up:

Before you know it, you've only got a matter of days left before second semester starts:

As you re-pack your bags, you find yourself really sad to leave home:

And the day finally comes when you need to say goodbye to your friends and family until summer:

But when you set foot back on campus, you know you're ready to absolutely kill it:

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
