All dancers have special memories from dancing for uncountable years. Being a dedicated dancer opens a world filled with great friends, amazing teachers, good laughs and unforgettable memories. As a dancer, one will always experience significant moments either in the studio, outside the studio or onstage.
1. When your teacher uses your body to model the choreography.
2. When you're trying to go across the floor en pointe.
3. When a jam starts playing during jazz stretches.
4. When you're trying to properly execute an entrechat in the middle of a jump combination.
5. When you hit a perfect grande jeté while exiting the stage.
6. When there's five minutes left of Zumba and your body feels like jello.
7. When the announcer at a competition pronounces your name incorrectly during awards.
8. When your parents and friends are in the audience during your solo performance.
9. When your teacher decides to stretch each person during class.
10. When you have to fit every meal of the day between dress rehearsals.
11. When your teacher compliments how well you lifted your partner.
12. When your recital costumes finally come in.
13. When you and your friend get a special part during a dance.
14. When you take off your pointe shoes after a long pointe class.
15. When you fall out of your turn sequence.
It is clear this list could continue forever. Simply, dancers make innumerable memories from their long-lasting dance experiences. Even though the majority of the memories are goofy and lighthearted, there are still times that are emotional and intense. Dancing is an activity that creates long-lasting friends and family in a way no other activity can create.
