Makeup is an obsession for girls all over. Us girls can't get enough of the constant buying of new makeup goodies. Some people may talk bad about girls wearing makeup, but I am a firm believer in doing what makes you happy and comfortable and for me, makeup is an art. There are so many different products that cater to different types of skin texture, skin tones, and personal style and taste.
I personally am a big fan of makeup and often spend a lot of time (and money) in Ulta. A lot of people think I splurge on MAC and other big name beauty supplier products, but I often save money on my beauty products and get ones that work just as good, and maybe even better, than some of the top market makeup names that are out there.
I have very oily skin, and these are some of the best makeup products I have found that work amazingly and last all day.
Concealer splurge!
I think it is important to splurge on a good concealer, considering this is going to hide dark circles under your eyes, acne breakouts, and any other type of blemish. The one I found to work the best is Bare Minerals-Bareskin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer. This product can be found at various locations including Ulta, retailing at $20.
Foundation save!
You have to be careful when picking out a foundation if you have sensitive skin. My skin is sensitive and acne prone so I have to be real cautious when choosing the right makeup for my face. I also do not want to spend a fortune on a foundation I will use only sparingly (I do not use foundation every day). I found Loreal Paris-Infallible Pro-Matte 24 hr Foundation to work the best. I have very oily skin and this is gentle, but able to keep the shine away all day! This product can be purchased from many retailers, but I bought it from Ulta, $12.99.
Eyebrow pencil save!
Eyebrows are all the rage lately. Keep your eyebrows "on fleek" with the NYX Micro Brow Pencil. The small crayon tip gives easy precision when drawing in your brows. The pencil prices at $9.99.
Mascara save!
A wise woman told me never to spend over $20 on mascara, and even though I use mascara daily, I couldn't imagine spending so much on the beauty item. I tried a lot of different types to give my lashes that extra boost and I found Rimmel London-Scandal Eyes, Rockin Curves ($5.79) and Essence-Lash Princess ($4.99) to work the best.
Liquid eyeliner save!
I have been using the same brand of eyeliner since my high school days. Prestige Liquid Eyeliner ($5.95) lasts all day, glides on smooth, and the tiny bottle will last forever!
Eyeshadow save and splurge!
Eye shadow can be tricky because you want to get the right pigments. Eyeshadow is all about personal preference, though. I like nude and natural colors, I found that any NYX eyeshadow works well and is cheaper, and any Too Faced or Urban Decay eye shadow will work great if you are willing to spend a little more.
Setting spray splurge!
I think it is important to splurge on a good makeup setting spray because it will keep your face looking fresh all night. Urban Decay-Up All Nighter Makeup Setting spray ($30) keeps my makeup on without my skin getting oily or shiny!
Lipstick and gloss save!
I was never one for spending a lot of money on lipstick, but NYX Liquid Suede ($6.99) and NYX Lingerie Liquid ($6.99) go on as a matte and last all day or night. The offer nude and natural colors to hot pink and dark gray.
Of course, there are many other makeup products such as blush, highlighter, bronzer, primer, redness corrector, eyeliner pencil and the list can go on and on. My favorite brand is NYX! If you aren't sure what to buy or how to use a certain product, a beauty consultant can help you. One of the best parts about being a girl is experimenting with makeup!
