My Story

I grew up being enrolled in gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance. Staying active has always been a part of my life. Without even thinking about it, I was always on the move and because of that I was just always on the smaller side. I graduated high school and then college happened. And honestly, it didn’t have anything to do with drinking (because that isn’t really my thing), but food was the problem. Having a meal plan can be dangerous people! Add having a bad breakup during finals week surrounded by all that good food. DANGER DANGER DANGER. Those extra calories turned into extra pounds for me fast! That ex-boyfriend of mine introduced me to fitness and competing during our relationship. He always thought it would be fun to do and it lead me to getting into a routine of going to the gym every morning…I loved it! So, what would any girl wanting revenge do? Get in the best shape of her life to show the ex-boyfriend what he was missing out on! So that is when my fitness journey began.

I worked with a coach who helped me compete in my first show. I did NOT have a clue what to expect, but boy did I fall in love with it! The friendships, the memories, the glamour, and the opportunities that came along with each prep and show. I was HOOKED! To prepare for the next 3 competitions following my first, I followed that coach’s meal plans. I’m not going to lie…..the “bro meals”, consisting of nothing but fish, rice, and asparagus, got old fast and I was not a happy camper. I felt like I needed a change because the sport was starting to become something I despised and I could tell I was no longer myself. I began entering the scary side of the sport most don’t discuss. I began developing forms of eating disorders and negative self-esteem on a daily basis (One of the reasons I wanted to be a part of the Odyssey Fitness Influencers team was to discuss these issues a lot of fitness junkies face, but are afraid to talk about)

That is when I came across the wonderful life of flexible dieting. WOW, what a life-changing discovery! Flexible dieting is what I now advocate to any girl or guy looking to start prep or get ready for a show. Losing weight and getting shredded all while eating yummy things like ice cream and cake?! (in moderation, of course) What’s even better than being able to eat those things? Being able to maintain a healthy relationship with that food and healthier mindset following prep! I began working with Adam Atkinson and the SeeYouLaterLeaner Team. I couldn’t be luckier to be part of such a supportive and fun team! My teammates are always there when I’m hangry and feeling allllll the feels during prep, when I don’t feel like doing cardio they are there to kick me into gear, and they are all so welcoming! Being part of this team is what makes me love competing even more!

Fitness is more than just losing weight or looking good to me. It’s about creating and being part of a community that is supportive and likes to have fun! I want to be able to reach out to others that go through the same ups and downs as I do and we can all help each other out when we need it! I want to create content that is insightful to anything training, nutrition, and lifestyle related! I always said that I want to go somewhere with the sport and empower other women. I am looking forward to using this page to share all things life and fitness. Please, if you feel like my content could get across to other girls out there don’t be afraid to share my posts on Facebook or other forms of social media! XOXO

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
