4 Reasons Every Woman Should Join A Service Sorority In College

My friend and I are currently in the process of creating a brand new service sorority on our school's campus, so obviously I have spent a lot of time thinking about why every girl should join a service sorority in college. So, here are my top four reasons why every woman should at least consider it.

1. You will create change for the better.

Whether your sorority decides to help the homeless in your community by volunteering at a local soup kitchen ors put a smile on sick kids faces by volunteering in your local hospital's child life department, you will definitely create change for the better. Even if it is for just one moment or one day, you can go to sleep at night knowing that you've positively impacted someone who is less fortunate, even if it is just for one day or maybe even one hour.

2. You will have the chance to bond with overs through service.

Chances are that your newfound sorority sisters will be as passionate and dedicated to serving others as you are! After all, you are in a service sorority. Not only will you inevitably bond with your "sisters" through being in the sorority together, but you will also likely bond with them while serving the less fortunate and helping others. What could be better than that?

3. You will most certainly find your "girl gang."

If you are looking for the opportunity to serve others and meet lifelong friends, look no further than a service sorority! Not only will you get to meet other girls who, like you, care a lot about helping those in need, but you will also find friends for life! Your sisters will be there for you to cheer you up when you feel down and to cheer you on, always. Being in a service sorority is not only about serving others, but it is also about friendship, sisterhood, positivity, and a bond that cannot be broken. It's not just for the four years that you are in college, it is for a lifetime!

4. It will teach you valuable life skills.

Being part of a group like a service sorority will not only boost your self-confidence, but it can also help you develop some very important life skills. Your membership in a service sorority can help you become a better leader, team player, and most importantly, a better person overall. Your membership will allow you to take advantage of opportunities you might have otherwise not taken advantage of.

For instance, you can lead a march for pay equality or even advocate for more public resources for the homeless population in your community. Whatever you do, know that stepping outside of your comfort zone and serving with pride, kindness, and compassion can potentially make your community, the country, and even the world a better place for this generation and generations to come.

In essence, joining a service sorority is not only beneficial for each individual woman who is a member, but it teaches the community that if you do good, you can make the world a better place, one service project at a time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
