13 So-Bad-They're-Good Horror Movies To Binge This Friday The 13th

I will always stand by my belief that making fun of a terrible movie is one of the most fun activities to do with friends. There comes a point where a film becomes so over the top and ridiculous that all you can do is laugh. The worst of these offenders? Low-budget horror movies. The cheesy effects, the nonsensical plots, and the near guarantee that at least half the cast will die in some bizarre way make for a very entertaining 90 minutes or so.

Here are just some of the movies on my go-to list.

1. "Zombeavers"

@ZombeaversMovie on Twitter

A group of college students have their weekend away disrupted by a group of zombie beavers. I don't think I've ever laughed harder.

2. "Friend Request"

I'm honestly not even sure how to describe this movie. My roommates and I were confused yet amused by the experience.

3. "Killer Klowns from Outer Space"

Do I even need to explain this one?

4. "Sharknado"

https://youtu.be/M-pXDoe5a0E

Are we surprised that this one made the list? This is probably the first thing to pop into your head when you hear the words "bad horror movie."

"The Happening"

https://youtu.be/bCyLcrYDAgQ

This is an M. Night Shyamalan film. Need I say more?

"The Gingerdead Man"

https://youtu.be/by-KVHh1srw

A witch revives her serial killer son as a giant gingerbread man desperate for revenge against the girl who got him executed. The face of that gingerbread man alone is enough to give you nightmares.

7. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2"

https://youtu.be/AebCDidbqI8

Twice the gore of the first one with none of the nuance. And it's hilarious.

8. "Twilight"

https://youtu.be/fFLrRlPBg0A

Does "Twilight" count as a horror movie? Probably not, but there are vampires so I'll include it anyway.

9. "Cabin Fever"

https://youtu.be/eiTS5qztePA

Another group of college students staying in a cabin. Their challenge this time? A flesh eating virus.

10. "Life After Beth"

https://youtu.be/2SGPSDbC7QI

Aubrey Plaza as a zombie? You already know what's about to go down.

11. "Krampus"

https://youtu.be/BqiRZGyU718

Instead of Santa paying a visit at Christmastime, an ancient beast comes down the chimney instead.

12. "The Gate"

https://youtu.be/ZOX6-Rw5PWc

Two kids accidentally open a gate to hell in their backyard. It was made in the 80s, so the camp is extreme. This is the first horror movie I ever watched, and I remember being far more amused than I was scared.

13. "The Blob"

https://youtu.be/gwj-OEnPKUo

This movie is called "the Blob." I'm sure I don't need to convince you.

These are my personal favorites, but there are an abundance of B movies out there for your endless entertainment. Happy Friday the 13th!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
