Some Thoughts On 'Bachelor In Paradise' So Far

Some Thoughts On 'Bachelor In Paradise' So Far
ABC

Although summer is beginning to wind down and people are slowly getting ready for school, Bachelor in Paradise is finally on to get us all through the rest of the summer. For the past two summers after the Bachelorette has made their choice and the show comes to riveting end, ABC sends men and women that were not as lucky on the Bachelor and Bachelorette to a tropical island for another chance at love. It is essentially one big free for all which makes it that much more entertaining and captivating. Although only two episodes have aired, I can already tell that this season will even better than last. Here are some of my thoughts from the past two episodes:

Before going any further, it is only appropriate that I mention Chad. After his fiasco on the Bachelorette I was really hoping that we were going to see a better side of Chad and that maybe he would find a girl that would understand him and mellow him out, but Chad disappointed me yet again. Although him and Lace hit it off at the beginning, it all went down hill from there. He was a drunken lunatic and offended most of the people on the island as he had during his stint on the Bachelorette. I am disappointed that we did not see a softer and kinder version of Chad, but as always his antics and ultimate removal from the show did make for entertaining television.

I was a big Jubilee fan when she was on Ben's season of the Bachelor so I was super excited to hear that she was going to be on Bachelor in Paradise. I was really hopeful that she would be able to find someone and I was excited to watch that happen for her. Unfortunately, Jared just was not as into her and there really wasn't any chemistry. It did seem on their date that they did have some geeky similarities, but I do not think it was anything past that. I do wish she had a little more time on the island to find someone because I am always rooting for Jubilee.

Although originally I did not understand why Nick would try his luck again to find love on the Bachelor franchise, I was (am) still hopeful that he would find someone on this season. I am really rooting for Nick and with that said I am ready for Josh to go home already. Nick and Amanda seemed to really hit it off and appear like they would make a great couple until Josh showed up and stole her from Nick. I am hoping Amanda realizes Josh is not the guy for her and decides to pursue things with Nick.

Carly and Evan were easily the best part of the second episode. I found Carly super annoying last season, but I am definitely enjoying her more this season. Evan, on the other hand, still and always will creep me out. He is just a super uncomfortable person to watch on television. It was hilarious to watch the commentary from both Carly and Evan because both thought the opposite of their kiss and date. Evan was super into Carly and thought their kiss was awesome, whereas Carly was dreading their super awkward date and thought their kiss was terrible. It will definitely be interesting to see how Carly breaks the bad news to Evan about how she's just not into him.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
