Chipotle and Chick-Fil-A are great, but sometimes you need to stray from the norm. Here are five restaurants in Knoxville that you may not have heard of, but you should most certainly make them your dinner destination sometime very soon.

1. Tupelo Honey Cafe

This quaint restaurant is located in Market Square in downtown Knoxville. It is the perfect spot to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have the best biscuits that are served with blueberries for extra sweetness. A popular entree is the ENORMOUS chicken and waffles. Seriously, you won't finish it.

2. Gus' Fried Chicken

New to the Knoxville area, but familiar to many is Gus' Fried Chicken. Hailing from Memphis, this restaurant brings some of that great Memphis food out east. Located on Sutherland Avenue, this place is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

3. Stefano's

If you are on the hunt for some great Chicago-style pizza, Stefano's is the place to go. Located on Cumberland Avenue on the strip right near U.T.'s campus, it is in a great location. On Tuesdays from 11-2, they have an unlimited buffett of pizza! What's better than that?

4. Stock and Barrel

This bar-style restaurant is located in Market Square downtown. Serving giant burgers and several different kings of bourbon and beer, you can't go wrong with this place. The Farmer's Burger is an excellent try if you are in search of a great burger.

5. Soccer Taco

With three different locations all around Knoxville, Soccer Taco is a nice place for anyone to go for some quality Mexican-style cuisine. Especially during their lunch hours, this place is a great bang for your buck. With all orders you get bottomless tortilla chips as well!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
