Attention Game Of Thrones Fans: Westeros Is Coming To Philly

If you’re a Philadelphia fan of the hit HBO show and/or the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series who has always wanted to visit the land of Westeros, then you’re in luck. Not only did dragons fly over City Hall on March 16, but there will also be a "Game of Thrones"-themed beer release party at Eastern State Penitentiary on April 14.

While the City Hall event, a traveling promotional campaign promoting the DVD release of the fifth season of "Game of Thrones," was deemed to be disappointing by many fans, the Eastern State Penitentiary event seems more promising. The April 14 event is slated to be a special release party for Brewery Ommegang’s latest show-inspired brews and will also feature refreshments from Di Bruno Brothers, fire blowers, live music, and more.

So instead of pregaming in an apartment or one of the same old campus bars, why not head over to the Eastern State Penitentiary to kick off the Thursday of Fling Week? The long-awaited sixth season of "Game of Thrones" is slated to premiere on April 24, 2016 on HBO and HBO Go.
