If you know college football at all, then you probably know the story of Tim Tebow, the Florida quarterback who wrote John 3:16 and Philippians 4:13 on his eye black. He is one of the 1st well-known athletes who have boldly stepped out in their faith and used their platform as an opportunity to share the gospel.

Since Tim Tebow, many more athletes have stepped out and openly shared their relationship with Christ. Over the past few years there has been a few notable persons of the Sports World to speak up. One person is Dabo Swinney, the National Championship coach from Clemson University who has spoken of his faith multiple times throughout the last few years during press conferences.

Another, recent sports star is is Carson Wentz and many other members of the Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles. These men, including Wentz have constantly posted videos and words of encouragement on social media. Lastly, Allyson Felix, the Olympic American gold medalist, has openly professed her faith of God.

All of these people have one of the greatest platforms in the world to say and do with what they please, and they have chosen to risk their fame for their God, our God. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
