Mac Miller was reported dead on Friday, Sept. 7 due to an overdose. The rapper was loved by many and since finding out about his death, the internet has been in shock.

Once the news of his death hit the internet, immediately, his name was everywhere. What I did not expect, however, was Ariana Grande's name all over the place. As someone who does not keep up with either Grande or Miller, it took me a minute to remember that the two had been in a relationship for two years. After looking at more articles about what happened, I was disgusted with the number of people who seemed to be blaming Grande for Miller's death.

Articles from various news websites, such as Mirror Celeb, were portraying Miller as Grande's ex-boyfriend, which although it is a true title, it is not one that is at all relevant to his death. The use of her name insinuates that she had something to do with his death. The title "Ariana Grande's ex-boyfriend," as written in the title of the article posted on Mirror Celeb, takes away from who he was as a person.

It takes away from everything that he has ever accomplished, whether it be with someone else or by himself. Labeling someone as an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend is seen all the time when actors land new roles in movies or when singers do well on album sales. Titles like these suggest that success was only achieved because of their ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends.

The blame that is being put on Ariana Grande right now is preposterous. People who are bringing Grande into the situation are implying that she could have saved him. They are implying that because she left him at one of his lowest points, he died. The idea that a woman should stay with someone else to "save" that person is suggesting the harmful idea that Grande should've stayed in a toxic relationship regardless of how that would have affected her. It is also portraying women as caretakers rather than significant others.

Grande dated Miller for two years, and during those two years, she loved him and supported him. However, if she was no longer happy in that relationship, she had every right to leave. When someone begins to act in a toxic way, women and men both have every right to leave, and putting the fault on Grande for leaving Miller is suggesting that she should have placed his needs before her own. It is suggesting that she should worry about someone else's mental health before her own, which is a harmful mentality to have.

Since the news of Miller's death, Grande has received disgusting comments all over her social media blaming her for his death.

Comments like these have resulted in her turning off her comments. Grande posted a picture of Mac on her Instagram and is clearly mourning yet the comments continue. It has even been reported that she may have been rushed to the hospital due to an anxiety attack.

Blaming Grande is not only disrespectful; it is also wrong. Instead of blaming the singer, we should be looking at the disease that is addiction. Rappers are overdosing on the same drugs that are being mentioned in popular songs. Instead of blaming Ariana Grande for something which was completely irrelevant to her, we should be looking at the larger picture and worrying about the larger issue which we seem to be ignoring.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
