The events of the past weekend, comes as a shock to some people that we have groups like this in our country. But to a lot of us, we are not surprised, and you shouldn't be either. Our President lacks the moral authority to immediately condemn hate groups. The problem is he has through his behavior enabled them and given them a platform that they do not deserve. The thing is he hasn't done tis through promotion of them, but rather his lack of moral courage to denounce them. There are some people who may read this and say, but he has done that.
The truth is Mr. Trump has not called out these hate groups the way he has criticized, Mitch McConnell, Jeff Sessions, Lisa Murkowski, James Comey, President Obama, and we can't forget his favorite target, Hilary Clinton. He has not held back in calling out all of these people and more, but for some reason when such horrific events as the events of this past weekend happened, he blames anti-racist standing up for whats's right, just as much as he blames the Neo-Nazis, Alt-Right, White Nationalist.
The country has been desensitized with the election of Trump. The president has attacked many groups and constituencies all the way to the Republican nomination and throughout his presidency. He has attacked the media that doesn't shower him with praises except for Fox News. He has said and done very offensive things to many people in this country and quiet frankly the world. There are Americans who have been embolden by the President and the way he carries himself, that they have started to mirror his behavior while others defend his behavior.
President Trump attacked a federal judge who is a born-American because of his Mexican ancestry, he has re-tweeted White Supremacist, he even has members of his White House staff that have been affliated with these hate groups (Steve Bannon, Sebastian Gorka, and Steven Miller). So no one should be surprised about these chain of events.
President Trump is a salesman at heart. He has sold and said to a large proportion of America, that he alone can fix all of the problems. He has only made them worse with his behavior. No president regardless of party has ever behaved this way. This is not who we are and we should resist only his intolerance of the diversity of America and all that it was built upon and for.
President Trump will never change his ways. He is who he his. He is shattering the hopes of the people who voted for him. Americans should wake up and start paying attention. We are 8 months into this presidency and it has been chaos just like his campaign. And to those who want to blame the media, please be honest with yourself and acknowledge that many of these issues are self-inflicted. No forces the president to tweet flat-out lies, he does this on his own.
President Trump will never change himself, but sadly he is changing America and some people just don't see it or quiet frankly don't care.
