It's a new semester, and I'm just growing older and trying to learn how this "adult" life really works. I want to keep growing as a video producer, gain experience, and better my skills, so that I can be a reliable professional in the long run.
I keep a journal strictly for film/vlog ideas and stories. As a film major, I have various ideas up my sleeve for my upcoming vlogs, for short films, for PSA's, for music videos, etc. This semester, I'm enrolled in a couple film production classes as well as being a film producer for my on-campus organizations and such, so I really should always have ideas up my sleeve when it comes to film-making.
When I'm out on campus and listening to music, I always have scenarios in my head along with the song, and/or I imagine myself in a music video. It may sound kind of odd, but in order to form different ideas, I have to keep my imagination wild. While coming up with video ideas, I try to find ways my videos can stand out, meaning my ideas have to different than others.
If I want to get out there and make my name known as a videographer, I try to immerse myself in as many film opportunities as I can. It's important to just keep uploading, and to do that, I have to keep writing ideas for myself. I want to get my name out there, so I could be recommended to help film weddings and such.
Film-making is so important to me. As it is my major, it is also a huge passion of mine. There's just something about it that I love so deeply. Maybe part of it is that I get the opportunity to tell a story that began playing out in my head.
