Don't be so angry you got your vote and the President Elect

An Open Letter To The Trump Supporters In My Life

Dear Trump supporters, or more-so, the people in my life who I love that are Trump supporters,

Yesterday I was emotionally driven. I was anxious. I was stressed out. I didn't feel well and I really wanted my vote to count. I wanted to a part of history. I wanted a woman to be president. I wanted to show my daughter and son, that women are equals and that America can still be great with black presidents and women presidents, and show them that if they work hard they can do it, they can be successful. But we are stuck in a regressive state of mind, I have to explain to my kids why there isn't a woman president today, why racism and sexism are issues everyday, and why both of their mommies are so upset by the election. My main goal of teaching my kids that people are people and race is a non-issue and girls can be whatever they want is tossed out the window now.

So, I guess I need to explain to you, the Trump supporters in my life, why I am so upset. In addition to the reasons already stated, I am gay. I mean you knew that right? I'm also married to a woman (yeah I am repeating myself), and it took a while to get there, then it wasn't there and then it was there so those rights have been given and taken from us a few times. Now, I don't feel so great about the outcome of my marriage. Why you ask, well Pence is the one who gave the right to businesses to turn me away because I'm gay or to turn a person away because they weren't Christian or whatever. WHAT! You're okay with my kids being able to be judged because they have two mommies at school, at dance, at the park or where ever. That's okay with you? Okay great I'm glad we are on the same page, because if you voted for Trump you also voted for Pence and check this out, he probably doesn't like you either.

Or what part of Trump do you support exactly, because he is in office now and he has BIG plans for everyone. I'm not sure how you think your exempt. He is pro-choice, he is a rich business man so that won't be a good thing for the working middle to lower class, he already wants to change so many policies that were in place for a reason. What can a non-politician give to our country?

Let me guess, you're on-board with his immigration stance? Nice, well there goes my neighborhood. Literally, my neighbors on both sides and across the street are all Mexican immigrants. So adios amigos, nice knowing you. Why would you want the jobs they do freed up? If you work and your family works, then you don't need those jobs anyway, so why push them out? By the way it's not just Mexicans who are immigrants. You know who is an immigrant, Trump's plagiarizing wife. Yeah, she's not American.

Here's a doozy, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but "Obamacare" was your issue with Obama right? Well I'm sure Trump has some goodies in store for everyone like "Nobodycares" do you see what I did there? Or really what about his stance on race? Will America be "White" again? Ugh, that makes me wretch. Listen it's not the 1800's, the black people of the world today are not stolen from Africa and will not be terrified into submission, it's 2016 and we are way past slavery, you watch and see what happens if that attempt tries to go down. Lord help us.

I'm just a little scared for the nation and rightly so, so when you think I am attacking you on your stance, no I'm not. I'm trying to protect my children, my marriage, my neighborhood, my life. Is that so bad? Does that make me an awful person because I got heated on Facebook last night? Am I so ignorant to the change of this great Nation that I can't even express a thought about it? I don't think so. Does this mean I don't love you or support your dreams, not at all. I will always do both, it just shows me where I stand in your life, where my children stand in your life, where my wife stands in your life. Hell if we aren't really friends then no harm no foul, but if we are and you love us, then instead of me explaining why I'm pissed, please explain to me why you're not. I'll listen. I won't ever change my stance, Hillary deserved that position. I also know how it feels to continuously get passed up in positions, ETC because there was always someone that was thought to be better, and like this situation, it's just as false.

Yours,

#nastywomenforHillary,

Lindsey

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
