A French Canadian. An actor. A father. A photographer. A fantastic individual, Brendan Fraser. A man whom I had the pleasure to meet as a young child who was awestruck by the roles he played. Brendan Fraser whose known for his roles in movies like the Mummy series, George of the Jungle, and even Journey to the Center of the Earth. He is an individual whom like many others had his challenges, but it seemed his work and aspiration as an artist that he took with him everywhere he went.
Over the years the industry seems to see Brendan Fraser disappeared, it seemed that he had vanished from Hollywood. It seemed that Hollywood had moved on, from him, but his fans remained. But, it seems that Hollywood has yet again brought back a great actor and has allowed Brendan Fraser to make a comeback for his fans in his upcoming work Behind the Curtain of the Night and Condor. As a young child whom Fraser once inspired, I have numerous words to share with and for you.
Dear Uncle Brendan (as I once called you),
Thank you for coming into my life and teaching me that I could do anything I can put my mind to. Thank you for listening to my loud 12-year-old mouth which would ask countless questions about your job. Thank you for the time you spent with me every time you were in New York City. Thank you for inviting me to your movie premiere of Inkheart. Thank you for being there as a listening ear. Thank you for the Birthday Wishes that came along for a couple of years. I want to merely appreciate you as an individual because meeting you impacted me to be an individual who was able to learn from the things you said.
As a child, you left a mark on my life. The imprint wasn't left because you were an actor, a celebrity, but were an individual one could talk to. It seems that despite your popularity in the public forum you were as real and human as one can be. It was your humanity that allowed a child, a fan like myself to see past your stardom.
No matter how many times I thank you, it would not be enough. With time and distance, contact between us was lost, which may occur in numerous relationships between acquaintances. However, it seemed that the time that I got was more than enough. It was more time than many other fans would ever get, which I appreciate. Today as a young adult, I hold on too little memories that I gained from you, and I look back on what I learned from you.
So, Uncle Brendan, I appreciate that you being a part of my life. I hope to see you on screen in your new endeavors that you have coming. I hope to continue to admire your original work and wish you all the best from the corner in New York City. The city that I had the opportunity to meet you in.
Thank You,
From, the young child you left an imprint on.
