Dear J.K. Rowling,
Before I go into detail, I just want to say thank you. Whenever I write, I try to write with the passion and detail that you do. I loved reading from an early age, but for me, your books opened a whole new world. Even to this day, I find myself wishing I could apparate from one part of campus to the other. I also fathom the pensieve being real. To me, there would be nothing cooler than being able to view your memories, from no matter how long ago, in third person. I would do anything to be able to view myself on the playground in elementary school, or goofing off in high school. Viewing other people’s memories would obviously be very interesting also. Imagine watching your mom meet your dad for the first time. Incredible!
One of my own personal favorite memories is going to the midnight premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" that came out in 2011. Being in a room filled with people that cared about my favorite characters just as much as I did offered a sense of community. Not to mention I was able to point out exactly what parts were changed from the book and what was not included altogether. Nerdy? Definitely. Do I care? Not one bit.
Yet through all your fame and fortune, you remain humble. I think it was so clever that you wrote under a pen name and published another book to see if people would still love your work. You are never in the spotlight, and if you are, it is because you were knocked off Forbes’ billionaire list because of your generous charity donations. You’re so honest to your fans, you even admit your flaws: you were in a great place in life while writing "The Prisoner of Azkaban" and that’s why it flows so well, and you were depressed while writing "The Goblet of Fire." As much as I would like to think you’re superhuman, I know that deep down you’re just like me.
So, J.K. Rowling, I thank you again. Because of you, I write. Because of you, I am (as Snape would say) always home.
Sincerely,
Your Biggest Fan
