Dear faces that I have only seen on social media,

I have yet to meet you, but I have most definitely heard about you. And if you were wondering, it has been all good things –– so far. She talks about you in the way I hope she talks about me. She tells me a lot, I have heard your stories of freshman year and the crazy fun you guys have had. I still live at home and commute to school so strangely enough I have been living my college life vicariously through your adventures. So keep up the good work because I can’t be there to have that fun with her like you can. I very much hate the fact that my best friend is so far away from me, but I am very glad that she has friends like you to explore her new life with.

This is not her first time making new friends, she is really very good at it. We met at a Chipotle and have been the best of friends ever since, so I'm pretty sure that going to college with her made becoming friends with her a heck of a lot easier. I guess she is so good at making friends because it's quite possible that she has had almost too much practice, but you know what they say, practice makes perfect. And I’m quite positive that you know this already, but she is definitely a friend worth keeping. I mean look at me, I’m close to a decade into this friendship and even though she’s over a thousand miles away, she still is, and always will be my person. She is my person and I hope she’s yours too, so take good care of our person. I say "our" because I have come to the realization that she is no longer 10 minutes down the road from me anymore, but she is most likely living in the same residence hall as you. You’re in a much closer radius to her than I am and she deserves to be surrounded by people who genuinely care about her. From what it sounds like, she is, and I thank you for that.

With that, I hope you guys make a lot more memories together. I most certainly have my fair share of good ones, and trust me you will make your fair share of good ones, too. The idea of fun is incredibly easy with our person, but I bet you already knew that. So to the wonderful faces that I have only seen on social media, I may be slightly jealous of the time you get to spend with her, but I'm glad she is spending her time with people like you. Go make the craziest of memories, cherish the time you have with our person, take care of her and yourself, I'm sure I'll hear more about you in the near future. I hope to meet you for real, real soon.
