I'm sorry for the sadness you are facing. I'm sorry for the pain you are encountering after the passing of Chester.

But thank you. Thank you for making people realize they weren't alone in their anger, anxiety or depression. Your lyrics spoke to a generation filled with kids like me - the outcasts being bullied, the child wishing they could make their parents proud, the anxious college girl with the broken past.

Thank you for songs that brought back up the worst times in life, to help us heal, get through it, but grow from it. Thank you for your struggles that made art. Art that made fans feel less alone, less afraid and connected to the music you made.

But most of all, I'm sorry that you didn't realize how many lives you saved while you were trying to save yours. Fans all over are numb right now and will continue to be for a while.

Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
