Dear college graduates,
Some of us have reached the point in our lives where we truly understand pure achievement, and the drive that has seen us there. Reminiscing the total embodiment of exhilaration and utter fear that slithered its way in as anxiety for our upcoming emergence of adult life, or what we thought it was. Until the moment of sitting down in anticipation for your name to be called--your college experience in its entirety flashing through your mind like a biographical movie, only you can see. The tears, the laughter, and the memories both good and bad, friends and even amazing teachers have given you the tools to sculpt the perfect "masterpiece" we all hope to create. The many assignments and the seemingly never-ending papers seemed all for nothing, though they were a part of practicing our craft and for deadlines in the workforce. Furthermore, hardly ever has the message of growing up been so solidified than the moment of grasping your tassel and announcing your title as a graduate of your respected institution; the surreal feeling is something that should be admired and kept in a mental box of memories for we have made it!
Best wishes,
A fellow graduate of 2017
P.S.
As to whether or not you bear cords of honor, your truest achievement is not measured simply by the aesthetics, but as the person you've grown into. The pen has been in your hands the whole time, write some more pages in your life's work and many more memories. To those who think of the cliché moments and ideas of graduation, first, think of personal growth and becoming "better" instead of the "Best."
