For those of you who may not know, the application Vine has been discontinued as of Thursday, October 27th. This means, the Vine app will no longer be able to be downloaded to cellular devices and Vine’s will no longer be able to be produced. “What is vine?” you may ask. Vine is an application in which you are able to create six-second videos that loop over and over. Vine has opened the doors for many people who have found fame through the application. Although I was never big on making vines, I always loved watching them. For me, the parting of this application is very sad for many reasons. With that being said, I would like to say a few thank you’s to Vine and it’s creators.
Thank you for showing me the value of six seconds. Thank you for giving me countless laughs. Thank you for allowing me to connect with other people through the appreciation of certain Vines. Thank you for always being a topic of discussion between my friends and I. Thank you for allowing me to find accurate representations of how I’m feeling through six-second, relatable videos. Thank you for giving your users the ability to express themselves. Thank you, Vine, for being such a big part of my generation for the past three years.
You will be missed, but never forgotten.
