As a toddler
You hear stories
Where good always triumphed evil
But always is a strong word
As a child
You hear stories
Where it’s always what’s on the inside that counts
But always is a strong word
As a teenager
You hear stories
Where love always won
But always is a strong word
As an adult
You hear stories
Where hard work always got you places
But always is a strong word
Stories are just that
Stories
In reality
Evil triumphs good
Beauty controls society
Love is a losing game
Hard work gets left unnoticed
But there’s always a bit of truth to stories
Always is a strong word
But so is
Good will and
Beauty and
Compassion and
Perseverance and
Always
As we grow up we continue to learn different themes as we go. There are so many different life lessons that we come to know as we grow. Stories of good prevailing and love being top priority. Those stories are golden and pure, and in a perfect world that's how things would work out. Sadly though, our world is far from perfect. Society has it all backwards and upside down. We teach our children to be kind and loving yet we are the ones who pick up the magazines filled with lies and unrealistic standards. We want nothing more than beauty and peace for them yet we continue to feed into what society dictates. So we need to make these fairytales become reality, if not for ourselves than for those who still believe. Those younger who still see the good, who still can't tell the difference between stories and everyday life.
