Alone In Paradise

I was lost in a moment,

Caught by a dream.

Soothing my heart of things I can't redeem.

I vowed a thousand times a day,

To remove you from my thoughts.

But I won't ever have my way,

With everything I've been taught.

Then I catch a glimpse of you,

And my whole world ends.

You could feel the same, and I wouldn't have a clue.

What happens next is just around the river bend.

I can't stay here and be denied your touch,

Being alone in paradise is just too much.

So I'll abandon this place,

Until a new day brings me back to life,

Like a musical laugh in a solemn world.

Tying up my loose laces,

Leaving behind my strife.

Into fists my hands are curled,

Struggling not to scream and shout.
