Many people who are interested in the fashion industry have style icons or people whose style they want to emulate. Fashionistas see Alexa Chung as a style icon or an "it girl".
Chung has worked in the fashion industry for many years beginning her modelling career at only 16. Chung has worked with magazines such as "Elle," "Harpar's Bazaar," and "Vogue." She released a book in September 2013 called "It," where she spoke about her style and inspirations. Jane Birken is someone who she has looked up to in the fashion world. Chung stated that Birken has provided her with infinite outfit ideas and gave her the confidence to dress like a boy.
Chung was able to work as a model, and behind the scenes pursuing fashion-journalism.
Alexa Chung's style is almost like a young girl playing dress up, many of her signature pieces include: denim overalls, channel bags, midi skirts, and leather jackets. Chung can rock any outfit, she could wear a trash bag and still look stylish.
Alexa Chung has worn a lot of great outfits, but here are six of my personal favorites:

Here Chung is sporting a black long sleeve shirt, skinny jeans, and pointed boots. Many of us probably have the key pieces to this outfit, however, she really puts the look together with her holographic overcoat. The holographic overcoat doesn't disturb the look since Chung is already wearing such neutral colors.
2. Coachella 2015

Chung is wearing a white dress by Chloé. The dress is very loose, giving it a bohemian feel. The dress already has a lot of detail, so she keeps the accessories to a minimum with a statement skull necklace.

In this photo, she was working on her collaboration called AC for AG. Chung is sporting her signature look, which is overalls. Since the overalls are such a major piece to the look, she wears a black long sleeve top.

One of Chung's staple pieces is her leopard print jacket. Here she styled it with a chambray shirt dress and black booties. The pieces work well together since the leopard print is so loud, while the other pieces are neutral.

Not many can style a graphic top and patterned skirt, but the way Alexa Chung styles it works perfectly. Here Chung is wearing a Céline mini skirt which has a lot of bold colors. Her black graphic sweater is from Bella Freud.

Here Alexa Chung is sporting cat-eyed sunglasses which are tortoise shell colored. She is also wearing denim shorts, and low cut rain boots with frilly socks. The piece that stands out most is her fuzzy black sweater. The sweater is very detailed, adding texture to the look.
