A Letter To My Future Little
C. Babb

Dear Little,

You don't know exactly who I am yet, but that day will get here before we know it. I’ve discovered so much about you. I know your favorite color, season, animal, and flower pattern. I’ve creeped so far back on your Facebook that I know exactly how awkward you were in 2008, and yet I’m still just as in love with you as I was before.

Over the next few weeks, you’ll wonder who I am, and I’ll bite my tongue while I try not to spoil it. I’ll awkwardly avoid you at our events, out of fear that I won’t be able to stop myself from gushing all over you. Although I’ll try to lead you astray with my clues, I hope you’ll still tell your friends that you want it to be me.

Please know that you will always have a friend in me. This sorority is your home away from home and that's what I'll be for you. I'll be your mom when you need someone to take care of you, I'll be your sister, your mentor, and one of the best friends you could ask for. You need it little? Big's got it.

I'll chase the boys away that clearly aren't a nine, and give you nothing but the truth when you ask if your outfit looks cute. We will Netflix binge together as we shop for matching shirts online. We can get in the car and just ride around for hours with no destination.

I promise to always be here for you no matter what. Whether it be boy troubles, friend troubles, or school troubles, you can believe I’ve been through it all and will help you to get through it, too. I promise to pick up the phone on the first ring and I'll always make sure you're OK.

Not only will you always have me, but you will always have your Grand Big and the rest of your family in your corner. They are just as excited as I am to have you to share this life with. You could not have picked a better family, really.

Little, I can’t promise to be perfect. I’m sure I’ll have my moments where you wonder who is the big and who is the little and I’m going to apologize in advance. I will always try to turn our less than ideal situations into the best and funniest stories and will always make up any of my shenanigans with feeding you and taking you shopping. Thank you for being you and I can’t wait to make even more memories in the coming years!

I can't wait for the day that you find out who I am.

Love,

Big

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
