Age Is Just A Number, Ignore It And Be YOU

Age Is Just A Number, Ignore It And Be YOU

Age is a number of years that we have been here, how long we have lived; but truly does not define who we are, what we have done or what we will become. In society this is completely opposite, it has created a label that gives off the impression that we are what our age is which is false. We come into contact with a multitude of people throughout our lifetime, some that are beyond their age, some that act their age, and some that might act younger than their age.

This is not an issue, but where the issue lies is when society decided that no matter what we have done or who we are; our age will determine if we fit in, if we are liked, if we are successful and if we know anything. But this is where it is wrong, we as humans grow every day, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. You constantly learn new things, develop new habits, create new routines, and meet new people. We might not see it fully since we are the ones living it, but we grow, we learn and we flourish slowly over time. Some of us have seen rough patches earlier in life, and some see it later. We all have a reason that we are here, but it isn't all at the same time that we will become our reason or do our reason.

There is a right time for each of us, and all of our actions; this being said don't ever allow other people or society to dictate what you are accomplishing or who you are. Some of the most successful people in this world have made an impact at a very young age. As a great writer once said, "YOUTH is a gift of NATURE, but AGE is the work of ART."

This being said even if you are 10, 13, 27, 52 years old there is a never a better time to go after those dreams, accomplish those goals and achieve all that you are capable of doing.

So... BE BOLD, and BE YOU.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
