We've all been there. You're away from home, proud of yourself for waking up before 10am like such an #adult. How many other #adult skills do you have? I think these are 10 you should have or learn!
1. Sew a button
Your favorite button up loses a button at lunch, why should you have to ignore it or throw it out? Sewing a button back is super easy, and could seriously rescue your wardrobe.
2. Iron clothes
When you're at school, mom and dad aren't going to be able to iron your outfits for interviews. I've really struggled with this one! Thankfully YouTube is always there, even if the real adults aren't.
3. Describe yourself
The dreaded question. Going into an interview with this answer already prepared will make you look much more confident as well as take off that much stress.
4. Get certified in CPR and First Aid
Most jobs will require you to get certified anyway, but it's a great idea to do it anyway. You never know when you'll use it, I've even used it at home.
5. Schedule and check-in to medical appointments. All. By. Yourself.
I know, I know, it's scary. You can totally do it though. I believe in you.
6. Create a budget
I think the most common thing I hear from my peers is "I really need to start saving money". It really is not hard, I promise!
7. Networking
"Its not what you know, but who you know." This is true now more than ever. Make friends in class, join a fraternity that is specific to your field of study, job shadow, ask people to introduce you to more people. Get your name out there!
8. Change your oil, tires, and jumpstart your car.
For your safety, you should really know how to do these three things. Just do it.
9. Cook enough meals for a week other than mac and cheese and ramen.
Nobody complements how great the mac and cheese is.
10. Believe in yourself
Believing in yourself is the most important skill you could ever have. I believe in you!
