Adele: Oh How We Love You So

A prodigy, kind spirit and musical talent, Adele effortlessly brings millions of listeners to their deepest and darkest feelings. Adele is able to, within every song, touch upon countless emotions humans experience on a daily basis.

Her lyrics resonate with male, female, young, old and is an extraordinary example of pure talent within the universe. Every song from every album is so delicately put together in a way that the music could have only been brought down from heaven. Songs off her 19 album provide classics, and her hiatus after having her son served as a dry spell no one wanted to be a part of. Adele's voice is soulful and warm. Smooth and loving, Adele's voice captures the human ear within seconds. Whatever mood, moment or crisis that may be present, somehow any Adele song possesses the qualities needed to soothe and calm a soul. There are her ever so tear-jerking break up ballads as well as strong and empowering masterpieces with the beautiful ability to strengthen and rebuild the heart.

In addition to her jaw-dropping voice, Adele's bad ass personality puts her over the top. Kind and honest, Adele empowers people of all kinds and walks of life. Adele stands up for what she believes is right and gracefully shuts down those who act otherwise. Her classic one-liner "thank you" (which really sounds like "fhank yew" is one of my favorite things about the exceptional singer. Adele is pure and endearing, something many celebrities struggle to maintain.

While most of us do not have the talent comparable to Adele's, so many aspire to be like her. A role model, she inspires and provides fuel for the fire that burns within so many. Adele's inner beauty and soul-touching voice and lyrics enable a connection with her fans. While such a connection is invisible to some, Adele gives fans hope and peace among a chaotic world.

Thank you, Adele, for turning raw, human emotions into songs that will positively affect generations to come as well as the millions of lives you've already succeeded in changing. You've shown the world that it is possible to not just survive, but to live.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
