After living on dormitory food for a whole year, running out of food money, and being on a set time schedule for when breakfast, lunch and dinner is, I have become a little addicted to Tasty videos. Every weekend that I come home from school, my family and I attempt to reenact these Tasty videos, hoping that they taste just as good as they look, and let me tell you, they sure do. Here are my top ten favorite Tasty Videos and why!
Three Course Tuscan Chicken Dinner
Definitely starting off with one of the simplest, most delicious dinners I could think of. Anything involving chicken, bacon, and cookies must be on point. Although I have yet to try it in a skillet, every time I have tried to make a ginormous cookie, it never works… so this could be one of the Tasty/”Pinterest” fails that everyone talks about.
2. Strawberry Cotton Candy Cocktail
So this was an experimental cocktail that I did with my mom and a few of my friends. It turned out to be a dark purple, very strong, too sweet of a cocktail. I ended up just eating all the strawberries instead. It was cool to watch the cotton candy be absorbed in the liquid but it definitely wasn’t as pretty as the video.
3. Thanksgiving Leftovers Eggrolls
This makes me wonder who the heck comes up with these things, however, if you have a ton of leftovers from Thanksgiving, I guess you could experiment a little. When in reality, a nice cold turkey sandwich might suffice. I love the creativity, but doesn’t seem too appetizing to me.
4. Biscuits and Gravy Bake
I can’t even put into words how much I enjoy a good breakfast. I can’t even put into words how much I love biscuits and gravy, but a biscuits and gravy bake... PRICELESS.
5. Zesty Salmon Burger
This is a grade A, 5-star, $20.00 type of burger made so easily. The fresh arugula and zesty spread just makes my mouth water. The salmon is a perfect mix up from a normal chicken or beef patty and it seems so simple to make at home. Definitely something I am going to try soon!
6. Mozzarella stick onion rings
Can’t beat some good mozzarella sticks and, what’s better than onion rings? Those combined… a miracle. These seem so incredibly simple, and maybe even a little dangerous. I know that I personally can never have too many mozzarella sticks.
7. Bacon and Egg Grilled Cheese
Turning anything into a sandwich is ALWAYS a good idea. I can guarantee I make an egg sandwich at least once a day, and everyone knows it’s my specialty. This video takes a breakfast sandwich to a whole other level, two types of cheese, bacon, avocado, egg, and a grilled cheese?! To die for, to say the least. Definitely changing up my daily routine after seeing this one.
8. Balsamic Glazed Chicken
Another super simple, few ingredient meal that is easy to make at home but makes you feel like you're dining out. What I enjoy most about this video is the fact that is different from most and a little more creative adding balsamic, thyme, and baby potatoes. Definitely all work really well together for an amazing taste.
9. Reblochon
If there are three things I can’t live without it would be cheese, bread, and bacon. This video has had my mouth watering every single time I watch it and I still have yet to attempt it. It’s so simple and would seem like the perfect little appetizer for a get together with some friends. FonDO!
10. Creamy Jalapeno taquitos
I am not a huge Mexican fan, however, I am a huge avocado fan and nothing makes me happier than a dish with some cado. These look so delicious with the creamy shredded chicken, jalapenos, topped with avocado. Another simple, yet fulfilling meal by yours truly, Tasty vids.
