Abbey Rowe Is The Opposite Of A "Miss Wannabe"
Abbey Rowe

Abbey Rowe has introduced herself to the country music scene with her first single "Miss Wannabe" and if you haven't heard it, you are missing out!

Moving from Texas to Music City, Abbey is chasing her dreams, debuting her music through a love song about seeing her ex with a girl that looks a lot like her. I feel like many of us can relate to seeing an ex with someone else for the first time and feeling everything that comes with that. Definitely, check out "Miss Wannabe" and stay tuned for new tunes coming from Abbey in the very near future. In the meantime, I had the opportunity to chat with Abbey about country music, "Miss Wannabe", and upcoming music which is all included below:

Question 1: What is your favorite thing about country music and why have you decided to pursue that genre in particular?

Answer: For me, I love the stories that we can tell through country music. There is nothing that country music is afraid to talk about or share. Which is one of the reasons I decided to be a country music artist, so I can be authentically myself all of the time.

Question 2: Does your music reflect the music you grew up listening to? Who are the musicians that influence your music?

Answer: I believe so! I grew up listening to the likes of the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, Brad Paisley, the Eagles and many more and those roots still influence my music to this day.

Question 3: How has the move from Texas to Music City, Tennessee impacted you and your career thus far?

Answer: Opportunity and inspiration. Nashville has a certain spirit about it that just makes you want to be better, bigger, and braver, every day.

Question 4: What inspiration did you draw from for your new single "Miss Wannabe", whether personal and/or musical?

Answer: The story behind Miss Wannabe comes from a high school break up with a boy who just couldn’t seem to shake me out of his head! As far as the musical side, I wanted something edgy and groovy like a modern “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood.

Question 5: How has it been to put out "Miss Wannabe" and see how the public/fans react to it?

Answer: So rewarding! I love seeing people’s reactions to my music and how it makes them feel, and with "Miss Wannabe", which lines make them laugh!

Question 6: Do you have any musical training? If so/not, how do you think that has impacted you and how you've gone about pursuing music?

Answer: I was in choir for 8 years and took guitar lessons for 4! I think both, especially choir, really helped me understand the technical side of music and how to articulate the type of sound I want in my music.

Question 7: Do you have a specific way in which you write? For example, do you start with lyrics, melody, poetry, etc?

Answer: I am definitely more of a melody person, so I tend to start with a melody or chord progression.

Question 8: What advice do you have for musicians trying to break into the industry?

Answer: Find what makes you different and focus on that. There are more people than you can count that are trying to do the same thing as you, so you must discover what makes you unique and use that to stand out. For me, it’s my sense of humor and the personality that I put into my music.

Question 9: What do you hope to learn throughout your career, musically or generally?

Answer: How to be a true entertainer and the best version of myself. Also, I’d love to pick up some different instruments like the mandolin or the banjo!

Question 10: Do you have any upcoming plans regarding new music and/or touring?

Answer: I definitely have some things in the works with a new single coming out soon and I’m hoping to begin touring as soon as possible!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
