You probably can remember the song “I Want Candy” from your childhood. Now think about who sings it. If you can’t remember that, I’ll remind you: Aaron Carter. Years ago, he was the little brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, but today, he is so much more than that.
Famous for songs such as “Aaron’s Party,” and “Oh, Aaron,” Aaron Carter has come to evolve from his childhood and is working on making a new name for himself in the music industry. Aaron is trying to come back into music, and I have to say, he is definitely succeeding.
I’ve seen Aaron in concert a total of five times over the last three years, and each time the show changes a little bit. The most recent show I went to consisted mostly of all new songs, each one of them different and spectacular.
Usually at concerts, if I don’t know a song, I find myself checking out and not really listening to it, even if I really enjoy the artist. However, that was not the case with Aaron. His lyrics were insightful, the beats were catchy and made you want to dance, and the way he involves the fans during the show is something I think more artists need to do.
His show is just captivating. I never saw him when he was younger, but the first time I saw him was a couple of years ago, on his first tour back since he was a child. From the second he started performing, I couldn’t look away, and it wasn’t just because he was so cute. It was because his dances and movements are really just so fascinating. He does everything he can to engage the audience. It was like he never took a break from performing.
Aaron went through a bit of a rough patch a few years back, and that’s mainly what put his career on hold. He came out of this chapter of his life, and started a new one that revolves around his music. He’s starting over, and that I’m sure that can definitely be really tough, but Aaron is making the absolute best out of it and having a ton of fun in the process.
If you were to look at his Twitter, it’s really easy to see how much Aaron cares about his fans and how much he wants fans to enjoy his shows. He offers a meet and greet option,n and I’ve personally done that four times.
Every time, Aaron takes the time to talk with you and ask your opinion, and doesn’t rush you or just try to get you out of there so he can get back on the road. I’ve never felt like he didn’t want to meet me.
I’ve seen him do special meet and greets for little kids, or those with special needs (including a few teenagers who were hearing impaired, which I thought was amazing). He even brought his new puppy to one of the meet and greets, so his fans could meet the puppy, too. I wish I had been there!
Last time I saw him, my friend and I were talking to him about how we’ve seen him five times in three years, so things have changed, and he said, “I’m changing, too” and pointed to his new tattoo, which says “love.” I’m sure this is in homage for his next album, which is also titled that, spelled "Løvë." I can’t speak for him, but I think Aaron wants to be respected as an artist, the artist he is now. Yes, he still sings a mash-up of his classic songs at his shows, but he is all about his new album. Don’t come crying to Aaron that you want an entire throwback
