A Thank You Letter To My Mentor

In this life, we meet new people everyday to the point of sometimes not thinking anything about it. People can come into your life so quickly but sometimes people come into your lives and you don't know at the moment that their presence will forever change your life. They might be placed there on purpose or unintentionally, but it is in that moment that your life is suddenly changed for the better. I didn't realize at the time how much I needed you in my life, but I am so much better now that you are a presence in my life. This letter is to the person that has changed my life for the better and helped me to transform into the person I am today.

1. Thank you for always pushing me to reach my fullest potential, even when I think that there is nothing more there.

2. Thank you for loving me so well, and loving me like one of your own.

3. Thank you for listening to me and always lending an ear when I need advice or to vent.

4. Thank you for making me laugh when I am upset or down.

5. Thank you for modeling for me what it means to be a strong woman.

6. Thank you for constantly reminding me how loved I am.

7. Thank you for believing in me, even when it feels like I am alone.

8. Thank you for showing me what it means to truly be a woman of God.

9. Thank you for showing me what a marriage full of love and respect is and what I should aspire to love like.

10. Thank you for trusting me with your thoughts, secrets, and feelings.

11. Thank you for supporting every single one of my dreams, even if they seem far stretched.

12. Thank you for being my biggest supporter in all of my endeavors.

13. Thank you for making me feel special and important.

14. Thank you for sharing your successes and failures with me.

15. Thank you for loving me so well.

While there are so many other reasons I could list, I cannot help but think of just how incredibly lucky I am so have someone so incredible in my life. I don't know if you will ever see this, but if you do, I hope you know how much I appreciate you and your presence in my life.

Love Always.

I love the entire year. Well, for the most part. I'm not a big fan of Winter, but even then, every month has something that's pretty great. November? Thanksgiving. December? Winter Holidays. January? New Year's. February? Valentine's and Single Awareness Day. May? Existential dread during finals. But for me, March has always been my favorite month of the year, and for good reason.
