A thank You Letter

Without you I wouldn't be where I am today.

A thank You Letter

There are not many people who can say that one single person sparked a whole new chapter of their life. Recently I wrote an article about NACURH as a whole, but within this amazing organization I was inspired. I don't really think this person has any idea that I am this inspired. Well about four months ago I walked into boardroom and saw this girl with a gavel running a boardroom and I had no clue who she was. I thought she was an adult like in charge, turns out she was a student just like me with basically the same major on the same career path. Little did I know the impact that Megan Brown would have on not only me but NEACURH as a whole.

Megan, honestly I am sure this is going to make you cry, because I seem to be pretty good at that recently. Truthfully I can't say "thank you" enough for everything you have shown me over the past four months. I know that this is only the beginning of the many amazing things you will go on to do. For starters you showed me that anyone can be on the RBD and that it is possible to a find a home in NEACURH. Much like you I felt out of place until you welcomed me into the family. You let me know that you were always there for people and that I could literally talk to you about anything and I did when I would ask completely random questions over GroupMe leading up to NACURH. It was in these times that I realized how selfless Megan was as she was going above and beyond her duties as Regional Director to help every single member of the region feel important. This meant a lot to me and it was nice having a familiar face at the national conference.

Next Megan showed me and everyone else how to push through and be a face for many. She exemplifies strength and passion to everyone around her and I can just feed off of it. Her passion for the region and her Mooselove is something that will never go away. You also came into this role half way through the year and made the most of it. You shared your story with everyone and I truly found it so relatable. You do things out of the pure kindness of your heart and never truly realize the impact you are having on people. For me, you helped me to realize my full potential and just go after something. You encourage others to keep their heads up high and become the best versions of themselves. This is an amazing trait to have.

Most importantly Megan, you came into my life when I was lost and sick of explaining what I was doing with my life because nobody understood. You taught me that there is a whole world of people who gets it and who is more than willing to talk about. I hope someday someone will be able to come to me and vent or talk about anything with, which is how I can feel like when I talk to you. You are always there listening and offering the best advice and motivation I can ever ask for. Megan I just want to say thank you for literally everything because you are an amazing human being and you inspire me to be a better person every day. So thank you Megan, I hope this didn't make you cry to much!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
