We all grew up watching shows like SpongeBob, Catdog, Hey Arnold!, or AHH! Real Monsters. All of these shows taught us lessons about friendships, sharing and that cartoon food always looked better than real life food.

My reason for choosing these cartoons is because they had an impact in my life and had a tiny part in shaping who I am as a person. Mostly my wonderful quotes and sarcasm.

1. Hey Arnold!

I chose Hey Arnold! as number one due to it being one of the more "relatable" cartoons that Nick released. We looked at this show as us and our friends. It taught us not everyone's life is perfect.

It also taught us to be understanding of others and show love for others even if they do not do the same for us. It taught us never give up, always chase your dreams - even if it includes chasing after that stupid football head. Hey Arnold will remain an amazing cartoon, regardless of what era we are in. This cartoon stands out above the rest.

2. CatDog.

I chose this as number two because it's more of a sibling show. Brothers fight. Sisters fight. Brothers and sisters fight. This show taught us kids with a brother or sister that, they will always be the one person that is there for you no matter what. This show also gave lessons on being kind to others, helping others and not to bully others. Although it was an animal cartoon - it had some very good lessons that I hope we all will remember.

3. Rocket Power.

This is one cartoon that EVERYONE knew. This cartoon taught the importance of friendship, and how it can see through anything. It also taught us that maybe just maybe we can surf if we try hard enough. Most importantly, it taught us how the best of friends become family, and that family is the most important thing in life. Oh, and of course, the "rocket power handshake" or woogity woogity!

4. Spongebob.

This cartoon I discuss regularly because it is very near and dear to my heart. This cartoon teaches you about friendship, having fun, blowing bubbles, making an amazing burger, and of course - how to annoy your neighbors. Spongebob was a funny, and entertaining show which it still is today. Spongebob has been the cartoon that reminded me to keep my inner child, as taking life too seriously is boring. Normal is boring.

5. AHH! Real Monsters.

This cartoon may be a little harder for most of us to remember. But this was another friendship cartoon that was slightly disturbing. It truly did teach you that no matter what you were or who you were, you could have some of the best friends. It also taught you to not judge people by appearances!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
