Just like blue jeans and the little black dress, Mary Janes never seem to go out of style. Making their debut during the roaring twenties, this simple shoe works with your outfits for the red carpet or the gym. Your favorite celebrities are wearing these shoes, and with my tips, you will be too!

Due to the many variations of the Mary Janes, the shoe can work in all sorts of environments and settings. Mary Janes come as flats, pumps, wedges and more! These options can give anyone the chance to try out these trendy shoes in whatever way they are comfortable wearing them. Below you will find several examples of each variation of the shoe to cater to anyone's preference. Whether you are girly or edgy, these are the shoes for you!

There are some things to take into consideration before we begin styling some outfits! Mary Janes traditionally have rounded edges with a strap straight across the top of the foot or around the ankle. Anything that goes around the ankles will give the illusion that your legs appear shorter than they are.

That does not mean that petite women cannot rock these, though! You will see how the famously petite Ariana Grande styles her Mary Janes to work with the illusion rather than against it. This sort of style is simple enough that they can be worn with both informal and formal wear.

1. Classic and feminine

Dress up your casual outfit for a classic look with these suede platform pumps and a collared chiffon top. If you made the skirt longer and lowered the heel, you could turn this into a cute business casual outfit to wear at the office. You can find these heels here.

2. Study chic

Head to class feeling comfortable and trendy with these patent leather flats. Pair them with your favorite blue jeans, and you're good to go! You can find these flats here and an edgier version here.

3. Comfortably bold

Not in the mood for a dress or jeans? No problem! Slip on your favorite track pants and let your shoes make the statement. Find Sarah Jessica Parker's self-designed Mary Janes here.

4. "Gossip Girl" layers

The looks on "Gossip Girl" are known for being layered and styled to perfection. One of Blair's more iconic outfits features burgundy pumps with fishnet stockings and layers of green and yellow. Find a similar pair of these Mary Janes here.

5. Work it out

You're more likely to want to hit the gym or the yoga studio if you are feeling on fire with your outfit. Mary Janes made their way into the yoga world with these comfortable flats made just for the studio. Find a similar pair here.

6. New York vibes

Heels make you look fierce, but your feet won't be too happy at the end of the day. Hit up the city with this chunkier heel to make you not only look but also feel fierce all day!

7. Red carpet ready

The Mary Janes are continuing to evolve with not only one strap, but three. Pair this newer version with a long sleeve bodycon dress like Kourtney did or keep it more casual with these and some dark jeans.

8. Simple and neutral

The easiest outfits are the simplest outfits. Grab your neutral pieces and make it trendy and cute for any occasion. Get the exact pair here in a red or gold heel!

9. Coachella Esque

Music festival style always comes around every spring, but keep it constant by adding these bright Mary Janes!

Which style are you going to try?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
