Tulsa, Oklahoma is home to many things such as the Blue Dome district, a lively downtown area, the Philbrook Museum, and many more. However, I've not begun to tell you guys about the most prominent parts of Tulsa--the parts only true Tulsans know so well! The parts that are currently undergoing construction! Let's celebrate!

1. Highway 11, both NB/SB between 76th St/76th N St and 86th St.

Yay

2. Broken Arrow Expressway EB before East 15th Street to South Lewis Avenue.

This has been reduced to one lane, because us Tulsans love to be in traffic for long periods of time! It's a party!

3. Broken Arrow Expressway WB after South Lewis Avenue

This highway was closed EB, but we wouldn't want to leave WB out, right? Good thinking, Tulsa!

4. E 21st St, both EB/WB between S Peoria Ave and South Lewis Avenue.

Awesome!

5. E 31st St, both EB/WB at South Harvard Avenue.

ABORT. ABORT. I REPEAT, ABORT MISSION.

6. E 46th St N, both EB/WB east of US 169.

Hooray!

7. E 61st St, both EB/WB between South 76th E Avenue and South Memorial Dr.

Hip hip

8. E 81st St, both EB/WB between Riverside Dr/Riverside Pkwy and S Lewis Ave.

I love the idea of completely shutting down one of the most used streets in all of Tulsa. That's a grand plan!

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
