I am a girl who is afraid of not being good enough, among other things. Whether it is with work, friendships, or school, I worry. And I know it’s not healthy. I know that I am good enough.

But every mistake I make makes me feel like the people involved won’t want me anymore. They say the biggest obstacle stopping you in life is you, and I agree. I know it’s hard for people like me, but maybe someday we won’t be afraid anymore. Here are lyrics from a wide variety of genres that people like us can all relate to.

Some are inspirational and will help us through whatever we are going through, while some embody the hurt and fear we are feeling.

1. “When the road is long, when you're feeling low, with every breath don't forget how far you've come”

“Helium” by Mikey Wax

2. “It’s easy to be hard on yourself when I know how much you care. And you’re lying in a bed of doubt wondering if everyone has figured you out.”

“Sleepless Nights” by Never Let This Go

3. “I’m paranoid that I will not find, what I’m looking for. I don’t know who I am or what I’ve become…I can’t breathe on my own. Give me the light I need, help me sleep and rest in peace…I get lost in my dreams, so far away from reality.”

“Burden” by The Harbor Divide

4. “You’re just like me even if you don’t want to be. Sick little creature, it’s so nice to meet you ‘cause you’re just like me.”

“Just Like Me” by The Strive

5. “Please don’t go, most nights I hardly sleep when I’m alone.”

“Please Don’t Go” by Joel Adams

6. “I’m having these fragile dreams. Every night you haunt me in my head. As you leave is casualties, I’m scared to close my eyes when I’m in bed.”

“Sleep” by Callmekarizma

7. “'Till my chest is on fire and my head just won't die, I guess I'm lying 'cause I wanna, I guess I'm lying 'cause I don't.'Cause I just feel so tired like it's move or slowly die. You say, ‘You ain't you when you're like this. This ain't you and you know it.’ But ain't that just the point?”

“drugs” by EDEN

8. “Where's the light at the end of the tunnel? I'm trapped here on my own. With all my strength I promise to break free, but nothing's changing and I know there is always a chance as long as I believe. I'm not giving up, so don't give up on me.”

"A New Hope” by A War Within

9. “You think you wanna be, you wanna be alone. Just wait until you’re crying on the shower floor.”

“The Breakup” by LANY

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
