Ah, Fall. The season that everybody eagerly waits all year for. The cool air, bonfires, and pumpkin spice lattes are enough to make everybody stir with excitement. Especially if you live in New England, the absolute best and most beautiful place to experience the season, the weather and overall atmosphere never cease to motivate everybody to embark on insanely fun adventures. With that being said, here are 13 worthwhile activities to experience in New England during the Fall.

1. Honey Pot Hill Orchards

There is a reason that this amazing place has earned the #1 spot on this list. Located in Stow, Massachusetts, families, and friends are able to pick countless types of apples from thousands of trees placed within breathtaking, rolling hills. Once you are done picking apples, you can take a hayride over to the main farm area and enjoy the multiple forms of entertainment. From the massive hedge and corn mazes to the most delicious apple cider doughnuts, and the open petting zoo, this will without a doubt be a day you will never forget.

2. Topsfield Fair

Another family favorite. Located in Topsfield, Massachusetts, this is your typical New England Autumn fair, but it never fails to impress. Come equipped to enjoy food, rides, petting zoos, pumpkin fairs, and live entertainment with family and friends. There is truly something fun for everybody here- the fair is always a popular choice!

3. White Mountains

Proof that New Hampshire is just as enjoyable in the fall as it is in the summer or winter- if not more. This is the number one location in the region for leaf peeping. The mountains are absolutely breathtaking, as they are covered in millions of beautiful leaves. This activity is perfect for the more mellow of autumn adventurers. And for the more daring activity seekers, the White Mountains are chock full of the best hikes you will ever go on. From average sized inclines to full on mountain summits, the views will without a doubt make every heavy breath worth it.

4. The Dark Crop Haunted Corn Maze

This one is for the more daring of adventure seekers. Located in Hollis, New Hampshire, this haunted corn maze is definitely one of the most frightening around! Take a haunted hayride to and from the maze to maximize scares, and lose your voice trying to find your way out of the challenging maze. This experience is probably not the best option for kids, but it will never fail to be a worthwhile trip for people searching for the usual Fall scare.

5. Factory of Terror

While we're on the topic of "haunted" activities, this is an absolute Fall must. The Factory of Terror chain, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, Fall River, Massachusetts, and Warwick, Rhode Island, has received amazing ratings for opening some of the most frightening haunted houses in the region. Take part in a nail-biting 4D haunted experience, or simply get your scares from a typical "haunted house" setting. No matter what activity you chose to take part in, a visit to one of the three attractions will without a doubt be worth your time.

6. SCREEEMFEST

Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire certainly hosts an enjoyable night for all. The popular theme park is decorated with a multitude of Halloween decorations, and among the 48 rides and 14 arcade locations are numerous haunted attractions. The park develops a stunning glow amidst all of the light up rides and games, and provides thrill seekers with their desired scares; whether it be through adrenaline rushing thrill rides or a mirrored haunted clown maze. SCREEEMFEST is certainly a worthwhile trip for every family to make, and is 100 percent worth every penny.

7. Castle Island

Located in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, Castle Island is a Fall favorite among many Massachusetts residents. Take a stroll or bike ride along the Boston Harbor, grab a bite to eat at the famous Sullivan's, and explore the old castles and battlegrounds. Keep an eye out for fall festivals; the park oftentimes hosts family friendly haunted houses, costume parties, and storytelling during the day! A family trip to Castle Island is sure to be an enjoyable Fall memory and tradition.

8. Berkshire East

One of the best mountains to visit in Western Massachusetts. The Berkshire East mountain resort in Charlemont, Massachusetts, offers a wide variety of activities for any age. Enjoy a breathtaking valley hop zip line tour over thousands of beautifully colored trees, take a bike ride within the Thunder Mountain Bike Park, enjoy an adventurous experience on the mountain coaster, or challenge your comfortability with heights in the Aerial Adventure Park. Western Massachusetts is also one of the most beautiful places to leaf peep, so a trip to this wonderful resort will surely satisfy any and all of your desired Fall experiences.

9. North Conway, New Hampshire

A classic trip for any New Englander. North Conway is the best location for any and all things Fall. The mountains in the area are filled to the brim with activities, such as a Bretton Woods canopy tour, the Attitash Nor-Eastern mountain coaster, and Cranmore's famous arial park. Take a beautiful family train ride through the Conway Scenic Railroad, and take a trip to the Kahuna Laguna indoor water park. At night, be sure to walk through the outlets or the famous downtown, and enjoy first-class food and entertainment. This is certain to be a trip you will never forget.

New England is certainly the best location for any and all things Fall. Embarking on one or more of these adventures will certainly be worth your day, and will only add to a perfect New England Autumn.
