I've loved reading for as long as I can remember and there are some books that have stuck with me through all these years. Even if you weren't a huge reader when growing up, you probably remember most of these books being quite popular among your classmates. There were occassionally even arguments over who got to check out the books from your school library first. Take a look at these books and maybe read them again or for the first time.
1. "Harry Potter" Series
Do I even need to say anything about these books? I don't think any other book series will take over the world quite like Harry Potter did.
2. "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret"-Judy Blume

3. "Stargirl"-Jerry Spinelli
A novel about a wonderful girl who brings magic with her wherever she goes. Stargirl is one of a kind, she stands out from everyone else in her high school and is considered a little odd. She is accepted by her peers until they turn on her and kill the magic. "Stargirl" is an awesome read when you need to learn a little acceptance either towards yourself or others.
4. "Twilight" Series
You knew this was coming. Like it or not, Stephanie Meyer's series was quite a hit among pre-teens and teenagers. I recall my school library having multiple copies and yet they were always gone and there was a waiting list to check them out. The series was popular and many enjoyed the books and questioning their friends if they were Team Edward or Team Jacob. Can't deny the craze.
5. Sarah Dessen's Novels
Sarah Dessen supplies great books for young girls who want to get lost in an amazing story where the main character is strong and overcomes whatever life throws at her. And there's usually a handsome guy in there somewhere too. These books deal with serious situations and problems that many girls find relatable.
6. "The Baby-Sitters Club" Series
The girls in this series all serve as excellent role models and I remember admiring all of them. My school library had plenty of these books and I was always trying to read them all. The best thing about this series is you can pick up wherever because there's a brief recap in each book. This makes the series more enjoyable to read when you don't have to worry about the order.
7. The Winnie Years-Lauren Myracle
These books handled a lot of awkward situations that young girls deal with. From boy troubles to family and friend issues, all aspects of growing up were covered in this series. Winnie is a loveable character who is goofy and tries her hardest to be a good person and friend. Winnie made me want to be a better person and try my best to be a model friend.
8. Junie B. Jones Series
Junie B. Jones is an awesome character who is silly, but always learns good lessons in her books. Boys and girls loved these books and I remember not only the school library having copies, but so did individual classroom libraries as well. Everyone loves Junie B.!
9. The Clique Series
Classic books about mean girls and the struggle to find your place in a new school. While not always super relatable, (how many 13 year olds have Chanel bags?) the series was a favorite among most middle school girls. Each character had an admirable characteristic or two and there certainly were a few relatable situations. Even the over-the-top drama was enjoyable, because you were thankful you didn't have to worry about a mean girl like Massie making fun of you for wearing Keds and not Jimmy Choo's.
