8 Times The Dixie Chicks Gave You The Feels

As we all know, the Dixie Chicks are, at the least, bad asses. These women have empowered other women for years, and now they have finally announced a tour. You bet they're already pre-ordered. My roommates and I have loved these ladies for quite some time and we are so excited. Even though I have never seen them in concert, the Dixie Chicks and their songs have been a therapist to many for years. After a break up screaming the lyrics in your car, being sad just crying to the melody, or just for pure happiness. Let's put together some of their greatest hits that gave us the feels.

1. "Goodbye Earl"

Oh Earl, how we won't miss you. Earl abused Wanda, which her friends were not happy about, so they ended him, literally. Now metaphorically this is what friends are for, not murder, but simply being there for your friends. This gave you a kick in the butt if you had a bad boyfriend to want better for yourself.

"Earl had to die."

2. "Not Ready to Make Nice"

This is the break-up song I was talking about. Man, if some dude screws you over, this is the song to blast. You're upset about what he did, and not ready to get over it, and you know what, that is perfectly fine, because YOU, my friend, are an independent woman who doesn't need a man! The title says it all: Not ready to make nice.

3. "Travelin' Soldier"

Now if you know someone in the Army or not, this song will give you the feels. It goes on how two people fell in love before he left for the force. They sent letters, but he ended up passing in the war. Sad, heartfelt song, enough said.

4. "I Can Love You Better Than That"

You know there is that one guy that is with a gal, a gal that isn't the best for him. In your mind, YOU are the one for him. This is the song for you. Knowing you are the best choice and the most qualified woman for him, honey sing it out.

"I know how to make you forget her."

5. "Without You"

Missing someone is a horrible, HORRIBLE, feeling. Whether they've passed, or you've both lost your way, it is tough losing someone. Thinking something was going to go a certain way, and it turns around and surprises you, it's tough. "Without You" gives you some feels in a way that makes you miss someone, even if you weren't missing someone in the first place!

6. "Some Days You Gotta Dance"

Here are some happy feels for you. The best way to get rid of stress, sadness, being mad, anything: DANCE. Let loose and give yourself some happiness and confidence to get through whatever you may be going through.

"You gotta loosen up those chains and DANCE!"

7. "The Long Way Around"

Be yourself, dance your own dance, and live life. If this song had one meaning it is to be you. You don't need to be others or follow the most popular path to make the best life for yourself. Taking the longer, tougher route makes you more successful in the long run, but not taking the easy way out.

8. "Ready to Run"

Let go, be free! This is all about taking chances and being in the moment. "Ready to Run" makes you feel empowered to take that leap and go get what you want!

I don't know about all of you, but I am beyond pumped to see these ladies live. They empower people each and every day, and being good at what they do doesn't hurt either! So as we say another goodbye to Earl, and learn how to dance in our hard times, we can simply be ready to run the long way around, even without you.

Super cheesy, but super necessary!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
