8 Things To Do On Royal Caribbean’s Anthem Of The Seas

Recently my family went on a cruise to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas. To say that this ship is huge is absolutely the biggest understatement of the century. There are 16 decks of things that can keep you occupied while you’re out in the middle of the ocean on your way to those gorgeous island beaches you’ve dreamt so much about. Here are just a few of the activities you can find on board.

1. SeaPlex

LOCATION: Deck 15

The SeaPlex is a multipurpose activities center for all of the sports lovers. This space alternates between being a basketball court, a dodgeball court, a bumper car area, a roller rink and even a circus school where you can learn how to maneuver the trapeze!

2. RipCord by iFly

LOCATION: Deck 15

Want to feel the thrill of skydiving without the danger? Well, now you can with the RipCord by iFly, an indoor skydiving simulator! It’s all the fun of skydiving without the fear of a malfunctioning parachute.

3. North Star

LOCATION: Deck 15

Sightseeing is made easy with the North Star. This machine will bring you over 300 feet above sea level and allow you to overlook the gorgeous island view and maybe even find your family on the deck below if you look hard enough!

4. Ice Cream

LOCATION: Deck 14

Summer isn’t right without ice cream, and what makes ice cream even better? How about ice cream that’s free? With the ice cream machine by the outdoor pool, you can enjoy as much free ice cream as you want. It’s complicated to master at first, but by the end of the cruise, I guarantee you’ll have the perfect swirl on top of your cone!

5. Flow Rider

LOCATION: Deck 15

Surfing can be intimidating in the ocean. So why not surf the Flow Rider instead? This is a small wave pool that allows people to either surf on their stomach or standing up. Beware, though — the wipeouts are never a pretty sight.

6. Rock Climbing

LOCATION: Deck 15

Scale the rock climbing wall and wave hello to the giraffe statue greeting you at the top! This is a fun way to compete against your family and claim the ultimate bragging rights!

7. Windjammer Marketplace

LOCATION: Deck 14

If buffet style is what you like, the Windjammer Marketplace is the right restaurant for you! They have everything from a sandwich station to amazing fruit, pasta, soups, burgers, desserts and just about every food you can imagine. They have food for the whole family. It’s a picky eater’s dream.

8. Pools

LOCATION: Deck 14

A cruise would be nothing without swimming and tanning. Anthem of the Seas provides just that. They have in the outside section a pool that is five feet deep, a little wave pool for the children, a small whirlpool and two hot tubs. There are also two indoor sections, one for everyone and one just for adults. Both offer the same idea as the outside section, with a main pool and some hot tubs scattered throughout the rooms.

As you can see, Anthem of the Seas is the perfect place to have an adventure! Whether you’re swimming in one of the many pools or you’re competing in the SeaPlex, there’s something on board that the whole family can enjoy! I’ve definitely missed a lot of things you can do, so why don’t you come on board and discover them yourself? I promise you won’t regret it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
