One summer, I dedicated my three month vacation to watching the entire series of "That 70s Show." Truth be told, this was not the most productive summer of my life, but I did learn a lot from the characters. They taught me not to waste my time, and to enjoy life day by day. So here is some advice, some things you should tell yourself each day to help you make it through, as told by the cast of "That 70s Show."

1. Be yourself!

There is no reason in the world you shouldn't be who you truly are. If people don't like you for who you are, then there is no reason for them to be relevant in your life.

2. Surround yourself with people who matter.

It's okay to be picky about who you spend time with, who your friends are. Make room for the people who are going to be there for you, and exclude those who won't give you the time of day. You deserve better.

3. Watch yourself.

Watch your step. Make sure you are making the most rational decisions. Make sure you are safe. You are important, don't forget that.

4. Don't be afraid to take chances.

Life is full of experiences. Take a chance and do something spontaneous! Talk to the cute guy/girl from across the hall! Get a new kind of coffee! Just try to keep an open mind to new opportunities. It may seem like a bad idea at times, but that's how you gain experience and learn.

5. Remember to breathe.

Take some time aside from your stressful day and breathe. It's important to relax and have some time to yourself.

6. Be silly.

Loosen up and be silly. Try to keep up your spirits even when times get tough. Let go and enjoy yourself.

7. Get your sleep.

Everyone needs their sleep. Don't push yourself too far. The body can't function properly without a decent amount of sleep. Don't be afraid to put your work aside for a couple hours, and catch up on some much needed rest.

8. You are beautiful!

Never, ever, ever forget that you are beautiful! Don't let anyone tell you different!

9. Don't take everything so seriously!

We all say things we don't really mean at times, so it's important to remember that not everything should be taken seriously. We all joke around with our friends and family. Don't forget to take it with a grain of salt.

10. Appreciate your family.

No matter how much they annoy you, remember that you do love your family. They will get underneath your skin and make you contemplate murder, but they love you for who you are and will always be there to support you when you need it.

11. Have respect and pick your battles.

Always, always, always have respect for everyone you encounter throughout the day. You never know what has happened to them before you came along. Don't be afraid to over tip at a restaurant or give someone a compliment. It could make their day. Even if they aren't in the best mood or haven't given you the best service, understand that they could probably use a pick-me-up, and try to remember that they could be under just as much stress and pressure as you.

So here are some little reminders to help you get through the day. Remember who you are and embrace it. Love yourself because you are special and unique. Take life day by day and live it how you want but try to keep this advice in the back of your head. You can do it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
