There are two kinds of people in this world: morning birds and night owls. Personally, I will never be a morning bird. I have found that it is physically impossible for me to wake up before 9 a.m. and go to sleep earlier than 12:30 a.m.; I give serious props to anyone who can wake up early and go to bed early. From years of staying up late, I've realized that a number of things can occur after midnight and that I'm probably not the only night owl who has experienced this before.
1. You feel like organizing and cleaning.
I'm not sure why, but late at night, I've had urges to organize and clean my room, school assignments, and get my life together. Where was this motivation when I needed it during the day?
2. You scroll aimlessly through your social media networks.
Or just through all your apps. When you're alive and awake, no one else is, so what other options do you have to go through your apps, camera roll, and every social media outlet you have?
3. You randomly get hungry.
You'll just be chilling in bed, and then all the sudden you get hungry. Then you make an escape plan on how to leave your room and sneak downstairs for a snack without waking up anyone, with it being three in the morning.
4. The YouTube addiction becomes real.
Once again, it's because it's late and you're bored. You first start light, probably with a Jimmy Kimmel interview or a music video. But with YouTube being YouTube, you get sucked into watching puppy videos and more.
5. You desperately wish someone was awake to go on a late night adventure with you.
It's similar to cleaning your room — you just have the urge to get up and do something, and in this case, it's late night exploring.
6. That feeling of shock when you remember some people's bedtime is 10 PM or earlier.
How can one go to sleep that early? How does your body work like that?
7. You catch yourself asking questions or thinking deep thoughts.
You'll just be laying in bed and then BANG. What am I going to wear tomorrow? What does this person think of me? Who created music? Sometimes the questions and thoughts are deep, some are randomly stupid.
8. When you finally decide to go to sleep, you realize you're going to regret staying up this late in the morning.
Especially if you need to be up early the next morning. No matter how hard you try to fall asleep somewhat early, it never happens. Even if you have the opportunity to sleep in, you still feel a pang of guilt because you know you won't wake up until noon and half the day has already passed. But sleep is for the weak, right?
