So a lot of people like history, not everyone chooses to major in it, but a lot of people do enjoy it to an extent. Here is a comprised list of a History Major's recommendations for some historical humor and entertainment.

1.Hetalia

This is an anime that personifies each country as a person, and teaches history. Each episode is less than 5 minutes. So you can’t say you don’t have time for it. It is actually a really happy show, so it would be a nice break from reading and researching emotionally difficult content. The show has received criticism for countries being overly stereotyped, but there is only so much you can do when you are consolidating an entire country into one person.Teachers should be cautious of using this in the classroom,You can watch some episodes for free at http://www.funimation.com/shows/hetalia/videoshttp://www.funimation.com/shows/hetalia/videos. (You can even watch these out of order, it isn't chronological)

2. Sabaton

This is a heavy metal band from Sweden and they sing about different battles from different historical periods. (They are the reason I remember the date of D-Day). And the only “swear word” I have heard in any of their songs was the word “hell” so teachers could probably use this in the class room. They’re still doing concerts. They actually have one coming up in Dallas which you can get tickets for at: http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/1247559/tfly?utm_medium=api

You can check them out at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jTgkTEDDog

5. Time Warp Trio

This is a book series that was turned into a cartoon aimed at American primary school aged children. The concept is pretty simple: The main character, Joe, is given a book that has been handed down through the generations of his family, and this book allows you to time travel. The book is constantly sending Joe and his friends to different time periods, and they must use their historical knowledge to survive, not change history, and get back home.

Watch it for free at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5zYqp3bxCI

6. Ex Deo

This is a screamo band that focuses on Ancient Roman history. You could probably use a lyrical video in the classroom, but I would recommend watching the music video before airing it to your students.

Check them out at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l38JxFUCh0I

7. Tutenstein

This is another American T.V. show aimed for primary school aged children that focuses on Ancient Egypt. Our protagonist is a little girl, who spends a lot of time at this museum because her mom is an anthropologist, and her friend is King Tut’s undead mummy.

8. History bombs

This is a Youtube channel that covers a topic in under 5 minutes. Great place to start and learn something outside of your area, and also a great resource for classrooms.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
