"They're ankle biters!" "They're mean!" "They do nothing but bark!" Blah blah blah. Chihuahuas have a bad rep by most people but in actuality, they're a cute little breed with big personalities that have stole many hearts, including mine. I have 2 little Chihuahuas who I love dearly, and here's 8 reasons why you should have one too:
1. They are super cuddly
They're small dogs so they're great cuddlers! Grab a blanket and a Chihuahua and you're set for a long night of cuddles ahead.
2. They are quirky and VERY entertaining
These little cuties will never fail to put a smile on your face. It's kind of one of those "you have to be there" moments to know what I'm talking about.
3. They live longer
A chihuahua's average life span is about 15-20 years old which is longer than the average big or mid-sized dog, so you can count on having a best furry friend around for a long time!
4. You'll always have a tanning buddy
Chihuahuas are known to love the sun and warm weather.
5. They don't need much exercise
Since they are so small, they really don't need to go on super long walks. They can get most of their exercise by running inside the house and running around the backyard, but giving your little pet extra walks is recommended.
6. They may be small, but they are mighty!
Yeah, the average chihuahua may be between 3-6 pounds, but they sure can keep the bad guys away. They are a very alert breed and will most likely bark at people they don't know.
7. They're great traveling partners
Chihuahuas are small, so they're the perfect travel size for trips and also the perfect size for apartments.
8. They're adorable!
They have the cutest and sweetest little faces ever that you can't get enough of. They truly are the perfect little dogs for anyone looking for a cuddle buddy or a guard dog.
