8 Reasons Cats Are Better Than Dogs

Trust me, I am the first person to point out a cute dog on the street and want to pet it. When I go over to a friend's house who has dogs I spend more time with the dog than with them. I am a proud member of the "Dogspotting" page on Facebook. No matter how cute, adorable, and loving a dog is I will always prefer a cat. No, this does not make me a crazy cat lady. It just means that I appreciate the aloof personality that cats have. Here are eight reasons why cats are better than dogs.

1. You have to earn their love

The unconditional love that dogs offer is great and all, but unconditional love from a cat has so much more value. Cats don't care about anything. So to get a cat to not only like you, but to actually seek you out to spend time with you is an incredible feat.

2. Cat naps

Cats love to sleep and love warm things. Humans love to sleep wrapped in blankets. It's a match made in heaven. There is nothing better than being curled up in a blanket with a cat right next to you.

3. They don't need to be walked

Cats take care of themselves. If it's raining outside you don't have to worry because a cat has a litter-box.

4. They purr

When you pet a cat you can feel how happy it is from the vibrations of it's purr, and it's super cute.

5. All cats are lap sized

With dogs you have to chose between lap dog or big dog, that decision does not exist with cats. All cats will perfectly fit on your lap.

6. They don't need constant attention

Cats come and go when they please. If they want attention they will find you then leave when they've had enough. They do their own thing and don't rely on you to keep them happy.

7. Just as loyal as dogs

Your cat will not leave you. My indoor cat once got outside, but we called his name and he came running back immediately.

8. Just as fun as dogs

Cat videos and memes are a thing for a reason. All you need is a piece of string and you and your cat can be entertained for hours.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
