While Pittsburgh may not be your number one vacation spot, there's always something to be said about the friendly city's value for authenticity and endless pride for their community. If you are in the 'burgh for any reason, I highly recommend you check out a few of these little hole-in-the-wall establishments.

With lines constantly out the door through breakfast, brunch and lunch hours, DeLuca's has some insanely tasty diner food. Located in the Strip District and on Park Manor Blvd, DeLuca's is a local favorite to Pittsburghers. If you take the trip here, make sure you try one of their famous root beer floats.

2. Il Pizzaiolo

Located in Mt. Lebanon and Market Square in downtown Pittsburgh, Il Pizzaiolo is a fine dining bistro with some of your best Italian food as well as a wine bar. While you can't go wrong with anything on their menu, if I had to recommend any dish, it would most certainly be their gnocchi a la vodka.

3. Pamela's Diner

With several locations around Pittsburgh, Pamela's Diner is one of the most authentic and delicious places to dine. From their buttery breakfast foods to their salads and burgers, you wont be sorry you tried the wonderful Pamela's diner. You can find Pamela's Diner in Mt. Lebanon, Shady Side, the Strip District, Oakland, Millville, and Squirrel Hill.

4. Amel's

Located on McNeilly Road, on the outskirts of downtown Pittsburgh, Amel's has some of the best Mediterranean food in town. If you're in the mood for a killer hummus platter or some grilled meats and veggies, you can't go wrong with Amel's.

5. The Amazing Café

The Amazing Café is located under a yoga studio on East Carson Street, Southside in downtown Pittsburgh. With it's environmental friendly ways and welcoming staff, this vegan café is an adorable little gold mine.

6. The Steel Cactus

The Steel Cactus is not only great for some yummy Mexican dishes, but the bar scene is also pretty hip and happening. With locations in Shadyside, PNC Park, and Southside, Steel Cactus never disappoints.

7. Casa Reyna

If you're in town looking for a trendy Mexican restaurant with a cultural feel, Casa Reyna is the place to try. Located in the Strip District with an underground venue, this restaurant and bar is as authentic as it gets.

8. Market St Grocery

This new little establishment can be found in Market Square, aka the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. At Market St Grocery, you can find some strong espresso, delicious homemade ice cream, a variety of organic and local groceries, and the best of all, an amazing little wine bar in the back. If you're in town, definitely check out this new hot spot.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
