Every other time of the year, Netflix is a college student's best friend. Instead of getting out of bed this holiday season, snuggle in and enjoy the festive selections the website offers. Stay up late and replace your usual binge watch with something more seasonal. Maybe you'll surprise yourself and find a movie to replace Elf as your favorite.
1. A Christmas Carol (1938)
The original Christmas classic, it doesn't seem exciting in black and white, but it's worth a try. Plus, there have been so many remakes and reinterpretations that it might be nice to see the original.
2. A Very Murray Christmas (2015)
It's the comedic musical starring Bill Murray that Netflix has been suggesting you watch for weeks. Maybe it is time to give it a try. It's described as one of the strangest holiday specials around ... what could go wrong?
3. I'll Be Home For Christmas (1998)
In the longest walk of shame of the holiday season, a teenager attempts to hitchhike his way home in a Santa suit. It's a Disney movie, so it's inevitably going to be touching.
4. Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas (1999)
A Christmas cartoon broken into three smaller stories. All three are heartwarming tales meant to teach about the real meaning of Christmas. Plus, who doesn't love Mickey Mouse and friends?
5. The Legend of Frosty the Snowman (2005)
A newer version of the cartoon classic we all grew up on, it'll be reminiscent at the very least. It's the closest thing on the list to actually watching the 25 Days of Christmas without getting out of bed.
6. Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas (2004)
If you liked the first one, you should give this one a try too. Three more adorable, Christmas-lesson filled stories starring the only rodents I don't hate.
7. Love Actually (2003)
It's Valentine's Day or New Year's Eve before it was cool to make star-studded movies about holidays. Also, it's about a holiday people legitimately care about.
8. White Christmas (1954)
Even if you skip every other movie on the list, you should make time for this one. It's everything a Christmas movie should be. There's good singing, friendship and love. What more could you ask for?
