Ah, middle school. A time I personally look back on with cringe. From the braces, to the HORRIBLE Facebook posts, to the..interesting..fashion choices, it was not the best time of life. However, middle school is also the time where we learn a lot about life, love, and ourselves, just like the characters in Netflix's Big Mouth.

1. Your first kiss is probably not going to be cute and sweet, it's probably going to be awkward as hell. Which is okay, everyone's is.

2. Your parents are going to embarrass you, that's just how it is. One day you'll learn to laugh at it.

3. Your body is changing, and it's not going to be cute. But soon, you'll transition into the person you're meant to be, and THAT'S exciting.

4. Sometimes, crushes are better off as friends.

5. Stress is normal, find a way to cope with it in a healthy way.

6. Life's gonna throw you some punches, remember to keep rolling with them. You'll be okay.

7. You're going to get rejected. By people, by jobs, by opportunities you may want. Just remember everything happens for a reason.

8. Finally, you're growing up. It's going to be hard, and there's going to be good times. Find the friends you can laugh about it with.

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
