Everyone loves fall. The trees begin to change colors, there are crunchy leaves to step on, and it means the best three months are about to begin. But what's there to do in the fall if you're looking for the perfect fall date, especially in the Pacific Northwest? Don't worry, I've got you covered with three different major attractions in each state and some other small fun things to do that you can find locally or DIY.
1. Scarywood
Located in Athol, Idaho, this is the perfect place to kick off your fall fun and test your biggest fears! With five haunted attractions, seven scare zones, and their most popular rides, what's not to be excited for? Grab some of your bravest friends and try to survive the night.
2. Oktoberfest
While there may be many Oktoberfest's all across the U.S., why not do Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, WA? A small little German town with plenty of beer if you're over 21, a Keg Tapping Ceremony, food, and music! It's the perfect way to enjoy one of Germany's most famous events!
3. Fright Town
In Portland, Oregon there's not one, not two, but three haunted houses in one location. You can be buried in a coffin, visit the Ghost Gallery, feel your way through a maze in complete darkness, and so much more. While I may not be able to even look at a haunted house, there's plenty of daredevils out there who would love to jump at this chance.
4. Netflix
We all binge watch Netflix year round, but now is the perfect time to take full advantage of it. Some wine, popcorn, your special significant other, or some friends under a big cozy blanket. Maybe a warm fire or at least a space heater. Nothing says "romantic" like some Netflix and avoiding the chill.
5. Bake Pies
Channel your inner Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker and whip out some pies with your sweetie pie. Apple pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, all the pies! Your house will for sure smell like fall and the best part is you can eat your hard work or at least pick off all the burnt parts.
6. Cider Pressing & Apple Picking
Apple cider or hard ciders, they're both fun to drink during this time of the year. Go pick some apples from your local orchard and use those to make pies, ciders, or some applesauce! It's bound to be a good time and get you in the mood for fall.
7. Corn Maze
Grab a group of friends or grab a loved one and get lost in the fields or corn! There are corn mazes of all kind ranging from easy to hard to haunted. Just hopefully no children or aliens exist in these areas...
8. Pumpkin Patch
This is what fall is all about. Going to a pumpkin patch, finding the most perfect pumpkin to suit your needs, and then bringing it home to carve it and roast some pumpkin seeds. Maybe a cute little impromptu photo shoot? Romance at its finest.
Anything you choose to do will be the perfect way to spend the fall with your special someone or a group of your closest friends and you are bound to make some great memories!
