8 Glam Looks At The Emmys

Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, marked the 67th annual Emmy Awards Show. Hollywood's hottest actors and actresses gathered to see who the big winners are. There's a lot of anticipation leading up to the awards and who will be the winners, but the fashion also attracts much excitement.

I've been getting my E! News alerts since early this afternoon about arrivals on the red carpet. Instantly, I was gushing over everyone's beautiful looks. So here are some of my personal favorites.

1. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga wore a beautifully elegant dress designed by Brandon Maxwell. I absolutely love how simple the black gown is. Lady Gaga has been known for outrageous outfits, and it's refreshing to see her go for a more relax look. It only makes sense Gaga made an appearance at the Emmys -- she will be staring in the highly popular "American Horror Story: Hotel" this fall.

2. Emma Roberts

Another one of "American Horror Story's" finest, Emma Roberts looked breathtaking on the red carpet. Dressed in Jenny Packham, Roberts effortlessly pulled off the pale look. Roberts has an exciting week approaching with the premiere of her new show, "Scream Queens," on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.

3. Gina Rodriguez

OK, I have to start off saying that this might be my favorite dress of the evening. Gina Rodriguez is one of my favorite celebrities at the moment, and she totally slayed in this dressed made by Lorena Sarbu. She looked absolutely gorgeous, and this has become another reminder for me to catch up on "Jane the Virgin."

4. Samira Wiley

The amazing Samira Wiley rocked this awesome one-shoulder hot-pink gown. Seriously, the dress may be simple, but she made it pop. I am huge "OITNB" fan, and I literally cannot wait until the next season.

5. Julie Bowen

"Modern Family's" Julie Bowen looked stunning dressed in Georges Chakra. Bowen sadly did not win an award for best supporting actress but she still looked amazing. I mean, not everyone can pull off the mermaid dress.

6. Aubrey Plaza

I am still sad that "Parks and Recreation" has come to an end, but with that said, Aubrey Plaza definitely had the boldest look on my list. This sleek sequin gown designed by Alexandre Vauthier looked totally chic on her. I also really love that her shoes perfectly matched her dress -- I am a sucker for color schemes.

7. Lauren Lapkus

Lauren Lapkus from "Orange Is the New Black" completely owned the pattern dress, a look very difficult to do! I love the contrast between the red and black and slim fit.

8. Anna Chlumsky

HBO's "Veep" actress Anna Chlumsky, dressed in Bibhu Mohapatra, definitely had the most unique gown in my opinion. The multi-layered dress with pop-out flowers was a special treat. She looked flawless and I loved her glitter clutch in hand.

Out of the hundreds of glamorous celebrities, these were just a few of my favorite looks. As a pop-culture enthusiast, I always find myself gushing over award show fashion. Hopefully, one day I can witness this all in person. I can dream, right?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
